I am aware of the difference between Gmail's labels vs. Outlook's folders, but I would expect that Gmail does what is necessary to make the folders appear correct over the IMAP connection to Outlook. For example, if I drag a message from Outlook's All Mail folder to Trash, I see that message disappear from the Inbox folder after a short delay. Hence, the trashing of messages is registering on Gmail. It's just that the contents seem completely disconnected from what I see using webmail.
Why IMAP Folder is Not Properly Syncing?

Suspect some Apple Dev's have been lazy with some code fix Outlook after Windows update issues in IOS18's mail.app and its causing the issue. I was a little hesitant but went ahead and let it completely remove all the synced items from the account off of my iPhone. After a minute, it was removed so just went and re-added it and BOOM. Decided to just try completely removing my Gmail account, the one that wasn’t syncing with the Mail App after the iOS 18 update.
IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)
The responsables of the mail told us to move all the mails from past years to a new account to reduce it's size, but after doing that it doesn't seems to be working. This problem isn't anything new, this happens every year or so, but this time it just isn't getting fixed. By reporting abuse, a moderator will be asked to review the content of this interaction to take further action, if necessary. Some reference links I read thru though I don't fully understand all of what is being discussed. I have not tried the add-on yet I am going to experiment.
Meanwhile, the "connecting" or "Checking for mail..." just stays on the bottom status bar of the mail app.I will try the safe starts and experiment with the buttons ans see if it improves. After instalation ios 18 all my accounts in mail app stopped to sync( including icloud mail). It's usually not checked by default for IMAP to minimize network traffic.
My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update
The problem is that the some changes are not reflected in the Gmail web app. By Troubleshoot Office 365 Sync and Login Issues web app, I mean webmail accessed via Firefox or Chrome for (say) Windows 10, not smartphone app. To set up a mail account, we can set the same standard name "mail.mydomain.com" as the incoming and outgoing mail server. My comment about 3rd party email -- is a 3rd email app called Email - Edison Mail (from the App Store) I set up my mail accounts in the app and everything works as it should. I’ve tried repairing the data file, removing and re-adding the account, rebooting, re-installing Outlook/Office, running SFC/DISM, all to no avail.
Wonder if the vpn is causing an issue. Perhaps something in TB needs to be tweaked. I have no firewall monitors running during the day that would interfere just the vpn. I have several email accounts / IMAP set-up. So looking at my tree of email accounts one inbox might have 10 mail total and 3 unread form earlier.
